
Alexandra Rose Raisman, born May 25, 1994 born on May 25, 1994, is an American retired artistic gymnast. She has also been a two-time Olympian. She was the captain of the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, who won their respective team competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she won gold medals in floor and team events, as well as the bronze medal on the balance beam, making her the most accomplished American gymnast to compete at the Games. She was awarded an Olympic gold medal for team competition at the 2016 Olympics. Gabby Douglas who was on her team also took home gold. Raisman also took home silver medals in the individual all-around and for floor exercise. She is the 3rd most accomplished American gymnast in Olympic history, following Shannon Miller and Simone Biles and has won six Olympic medals.Raisman was also a member of the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships for floor exercise in 2011. She was also two times a national champion in floor exercise (2012 and 2015) and the reigning champion on the balance beam in the year 2012. She also is a five-time medalist at the all-around national championships (silver bronze, silver 2011, 2012 and 2015). In 2013, she was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
