
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in winning the league title. Morgan was 22 when she was chosen to represent the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and they finished as runners-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
